About the show
Yard Sale Vinyl is presented by two of radio’s most loved minor celebrities- Max Pedelo and Magnus Glocken and is broadcast from a small cabin in northern Ontario. The type of music you can expect to hear on this show defies any conventional radio play list, dropping Hawaiian coconut party tunes next to Bollywood Vampire movie soundtracks, Nordic Barber Shop Quartets and little know ditties from one album wonders of the 1980’s country and western scene.
With stories on how the vinyl was procured and little known secrets about the artists themselves, plus many revealing philosophies from Magnus and Max, this show charts new waters in the bayou of digital radio.
Yardsale Vinyl - Season Two - Ep 1
The boys are back from their vinyl collecting luxury cruise, flying home from Tahiti in one of Harry’s float planes. Max decides to play a record on the in-flight record player that he was given as a present by the same voodoo doctor whose daughter he dabbled with while on a stop over in Haiti.
This turns out to be a bad idea for the boys. Time travel, sentimental gangsters and a collection of 1920’s yardsale vinyl all make an appearance in this first episode of season two.

Max and Magnus have been away on a much needed luxury cruise, collecting vinyl, stories, phone numbers and topical ointment in every port they stop. Highlights on their vacation include Port o Prince and Mogadishu - both excellent spots for vinyl collectors familiar with the sweat and mealie of equatorial crate digging. The boys will back soon for season two of Yard Sale Vinyl, with more high adventures, vinyl gems and advice for anyone keeping a tropical lizard in a one room cabin.

Max Pedelo is proud to announce that he has become the new face of Victor Vermin Traps. As part of the deal he will advertise their complete range of devises including the Snap Trap, Glue Trap, a selection of new highly toxic Rodenticides, the Electronic Trap and of course the Ultrasonic Repellent. Speaking at the advertising launch via satellite phone, Max said he was ecstatic to pose once again for money, especially for such a well respected brand and good cause. The international radio and stage star is now hoping to expand his sponsorship portfolio and has contacted a New Zealand firm that makes the possum plucker.

Rump shaking maestro Raymundo Fabulosi is back with his new album Electro Biscotti, mixing electro folk, gregorian chants and smooth island rhythms in what critics have described as a unique musical nature ramble through a favela of minor and major chords.
The debut album by The Chocolate Ponies is a carnival of human expression. Front man Ruben Paella delivers punk poetry with a Wordsworthian twist, while the harmonies and basslines are reminiscent of Liberace meets The Ramones on a day out on Barry White’s yacht.

Magnus is on his way back to the cabin after a vinyl swapping holiday with Dave Stewart, but while he has been away, what has Max been up to with a mop and duck feathers to pass the time?
Who is Eagle Mirado and why is she trying to beguile the impressionable Max with her finger tickling banjo?
With musical delights and much needed interludes from the likes of Kum Bai- The Yodeling King of India, Ronnie Aldrich and his Two Pianos, King Size Cha Cha and Jim Nabor, this stormy episode of Yard Sale Vinyl proves to be spicier and more emotionally dramatic than a dodgy take-away curry.

No commentsLets big dance
Magnus and Max were initially booked to be the background dancers for this Ukrainian entry into Eurovision 2007. Unfortunately Magnus developed an allergy to the silver fabric used in the costumes and the boys were replaced at the last minute. If you look carefully you can just spot Max in the audience, grief stricken and weeping uncontrollably.
To quote Magnus: “This would have put us back into the big time. But how can you dance when you’ve got boils on your feet?”
The boy’s loss is of course our gain. In order to forget they planned on burying themselves in a Montreal opium den, however due to a navigation error made by Harry the bush pilot they ended up at the cabin where, after an unsuccessful experiment attempting to substitute opium with beaver fat and pine sap, they started broadcasting almost immediately.
